Privacy

Privacy notice.

Gaza by the Numbers is a public, read-only data site. This notice explains the small amount of browser storage and optional measurement used to keep it useful and accountable.

Essential site operation

The dashboard fetches public data from Tech for Palestine. To make repeat visits faster and to show cached data when the source is briefly unavailable, the site may store a time-limited copy of public source data in your browser's local storage. It is not sent back to Gaza by the Numbers.

Optional measurement

Measurement tags are not configured or loaded by default. If the maintainer configures Google Analytics or Google Ads identifiers, the site will show a choice before those tags load. Choosing “Use essential only” keeps those tags off. Choosing “Allow measurement” permits aggregate event measurement such as a research-link click, share action, or newsletter call-to-action click.

The implementation is designed not to send email addresses, free-form form responses, or other directly identifying text in those events. You can clear a stored measurement choice through your browser's site-data controls.

Email signup

The signup control opens an external form or, once configured, a Beehiiv subscription embed. The external provider handles the information you submit to it under its own terms and privacy notice. Do not include sensitive information in a newsletter signup form.
