# What the Gaza named-victims registry measures

The [Tech for Palestine Killed in Gaza dataset](https://data.techforpalestine.org/docs/killed-in-gaza/) records people identified by name in official Gaza Ministry of Health lists. Gaza by the Numbers uses it for the named-record count and demographic view.

## Important limits

- The registry is not the total reported deaths.
- It excludes the missing, unidentified people, and people buried without reaching hospitals.
- Its coverage date and release cadence can differ from headline summary figures.
