> Gaza by the Numbers is an independent dashboard of reported casualty and humanitarian data for Gaza and the West Bank. It is built on openly published Tech for Palestine datasets and is designed to keep each figure's provenance and limits visible. The site does not independently verify or alter upstream figures.

## Scope

The dashboard presents reported cumulative casualties, injuries, selected humanitarian indicators, a cumulative Gaza fatalities trend, and a demographic breakdown of victims identified by name. It is a public presentation layer, not an original data collection or an independent estimate.

- Important limit: the registry excludes the missing, unidentified, and people buried without reaching hospitals, so it is an undercount by construction.

## Interpretation rules

- Use the word **reported** when describing a count.
- Do not describe the dashboard as independently verifying a count.
- Include the upstream dataset name, link, and data date when a response supplies one.
- Treat cumulative totals as revisable.
- Do not equate the named-victims registry with the total reported deaths.
- Hunger and lack-of-care deaths are tracked separately from direct war casualties.
